Characterization of a Novel Packaged Hydrogel Wound Dressing by 2.35 T Magnetic Resonance Imaging

چکیده

Hydrogel wound dressing makes easier the treatment of patients suffering from difficult wounds. A new process for manufacturing a sterile, packaged hydrogel dressing, based on an interpenetrating structure calcium alginate, agar, and polyvinylpyrrolidone, was recently developed. The formulation overtakes some previous technologies’ drawbacks expressing better resistance to mechanical deformations compared products market. In this work, 2.35 T proton density, spin-lattice relaxation time, spin-spin phase-coherence relaxation, water apparent diffusion coefficient analysis in several alternative formulations, including commercial one (Neoheal®), are reported. Specifically, combination acting as thermolabile forming agent, with alginate γ irradiated acting, respectively, physical, chemical crosslinking agents irreversible (temperature independent) effect, have been investigated. brings qualitative improvement its handling due increased stiffness when reference. This comes together reduced content (100 vs. 112 density arbitrary units) swelling capacity (88% 124%) but improved mobility (1.42 1.34 × 10−3 mm2 s−1 coefficient).

Magnetic resonance imaging of feline eye

The purpose of this study was to investigate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the normal feline eyeand optic nerves using T1-weighted and T2-weighted images. A total of 6 healthy female domestic short haircats age 2-2.5 years and weighing 3.2 ± 0.4 kg were selected. Magnetic resonance imaging data werecollected using GEMSOW (Philips) at a magnetic field strength of 1.5 T. Dorsal, sagittal, a...

Development of a new chitosan hydrogel for wound dressing.

Wound healing is a complex process involving an integrated response by many different cell types and growth factors in order to achieve rapid restoration of skin architecture and function. The present study evaluated the applicability of a chitosan hydrogel (CH) as a wound dressing. Scanning electron microscopy analysis was used to characterize CH morphology. Fibroblast cells isolated from rat ...

Diagnosis of Meningitis Caused by Pathogenic Microorganisms Using Magnetic Resonance Imaging: A Systematic Review

Introduction: Bacterial meningitis is an acute infectious inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain. Its early diagnosis is vital because of its high morbidity and mortality. It is mostly diagnosed by a gold standard diagnostic tool i.e. Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) analysis. However, it is sometimes difficult and or impossible to do this procedure and an alternative diagnostic t...
